New Dental Chairs Increase Kent Clinic’s CapacityKENT, WA - HealthPoint Kent Dental has added two chairs to its clinic at 403 E. Meeker, providing up to 3000 additional dental visits this year. The additional operatories bring the total number of chairs to eight, which will greatly increase efficiency and productivity, as well as the dental center to serve approximately 3000 additional people each year. Since the Kent dental clinic opened in 1997, HealthPoint has seen increased demand for dental services in the south King County area. In 2008, 1147 people received emergency care at the clinic. In addition, the clinic had to turn away 1559 children and 1920 adults due to limited capacity. These two chairs will significantly improve access to affordable dental care in Kent. "In 2008, 40% of the people we served had no form of health insurance coverage whatsoever," said Thomas Trompeter, CEO of HealthPoint. Last year 49,000 people received treatment in the HealthPoint network of clinics. Of the total number served, 51% lived below the federal poverty level. An additional 27% had household incomes between 100% and 200% of poverty. To learn more about obtaining dental services at HealthPoint, please call (866) 893-5717. |
