National Recognition for HealthPoint Provider

The American Psychological Association presented Jeffrey Reiter, PhD, ABPP (HealthPoint Redmond) with a Presidential Citation for his work integrating behavioral health and primary medical care. Only twelve of these citations are awarded annually among the nation's 93,000 psychologists. They commended his "innovative practice of psychology" which has led to treatment protocols and interventions for integrating behavioral health into Community Health Centers, private medical practices, VA and US Air Force primary care clinics. Dr. Reiter took a leave of absence from HealthPoint when he and two colleagues were selected to improve US Air Force's Primary Care Behavioral Health Optimization Program worldwide.
Dr. Reiter and Jim Berghuis, PhD, established HealthPoint's Behavioral Health program in 2002. Since then, it has grown to include a psychologist in each of our seven medical clinics, as well as practicum students and interns. The Behavioral Health team works in an integrated fashion with our medical doctors, nurses, complementary and alternative medicine staff, social workers and others to provide optimal health care to the medically underserved.
