Programs

Building healthy communities.

Through our own programs and through partnerships with other organizations, we reach beyond the walls of our clinics and work to make our communities stronger. Among our initiatives:

  • Outreach to people who are homeless- in shelters, transitional housing, and on the streets
  • School-based health care for students at our Tyee Campus location
  • Nursing services and outreach at area Head Start programs
  • Advocacy through Community Health Network of Washington, a statewide system of community health centers committed to ensuring that all Washington residents have access to health care and health insurance
  • Partnering with Public Health-Seattle & King County, Swedish, Washington Global Health Alliance, and the communities of SeaTac and Tukwila in the Global to Local Health Initiative
  • Regular participation in community health events

Our Partnership with A.T. Still University

To help address the shortage of physicians in the U.S.-and to increase the number of doctors who choose to practice in community health centers-we've launched an innovative medical school program with A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona.

Since September 2008, HealthPoint has served as a "community campus" for A.T. Still's second, third, and fourth-year medical students. By studying with working physicians and applying what they learn in our clinics, students immediately see the connection between theory and practice and gain an invaluable understanding of the community health system.

In addition to hosting this unique medical school, we also host a residency program for A.T. Still dental students. Through both programs, we foster both the skill and the compassion that are essential to improving the health of our communities.
