HealthPoint Family Medicine Residency Program

Meet the Family Medicine Residency Program Team

HealthPoint Family Medicine Residents

Hi, I’m Supriya Raina, MD! I grew up in Jammu, a city in northern India, where I completed medical school and a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2020, I moved to the United States and worked for several years as a research physician in clinical research. Over the past two decades, I’ve gained experience in various clinical settings across India.

I’m thrilled to start residency in the U.S. and feel especially fortunate to be in Washington, where I’ve enjoyed exploring its beautiful lakes and mountains. I’ve always aspired to be a physician who truly understands and supports patients in every possible way. I’m passionate about healthcare advocacy and firmly believe everyone deserves access to quality care, regardless of their insurance status.

While working as a physician at NWCRC in Bellevue, Washington, I had the opportunity to care for patients of all ages. It was there that I discovered my true passion for Family Medicine. Although my background is rooted in obstetrics and gynecology, I plan to practice full-spectrum inpatient and outpatient Family Medicine, including OB, after residency.

I believe HealthPoint is the ideal place to train in full-spectrum Family Medicine.

Outside the clinic, I love to travel, try new recipes, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Hi, I’m Rosemary Atuhwere, MD I grew up in Uganda, East Africa, where limited access to healthcare inspired my journey into medicine. That experience shaped my desire to become a physician and dedicate my life to helping others. I completed my medical education in Uganda and worked as a doctor in Kampala, the capital. After moving to the U.S., I worked in primary care clinics in Eugene, Oregon, and Lawrence, Kansas, deepening my passion for community-based, whole-person care.

I’m especially drawn to full-spectrum family medicine, which includes adult medicine, women’s health, preventative care, reducing health disparities, and building strong, trusting relationships with patients over time. My path to residency has been guided by a commitment to compassionate care, cross-cultural understanding, and service—values I’m excited to carry forward at HealthPoint.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to spiritual music, window shopping, and connecting with people from different cultures. I’m honored to join the HealthPoint Family Medicine Residency Program and look forward to partnering with you in your care!

Hi, I'm Jolan Wu, DO, MS! I discovered my passion for family medicine through a deep commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive care for individuals and families. As a first-generation doctor, my journey has been shaped by personal and professional experiences, including early surgical training and working in rural and underserved communities. Parenthood has deepened my appreciation for the importance of family health, and I strive to care for each patient with the same dedication I give my loved ones. Outside the clinic, I enjoy exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my family and two dogs, often taking adventures in our camper van.

Hi, I’m Abdelhay Mohamed, MD! I grew up and studied medicine in Sudan, where I gained early experience caring for people in underserved and rural areas. One of my most meaningful memories is from a medical mission, when a young boy asked, “Are you the doctor?” That simple question showed how much the community needed medical care, and inspired me to keep serving.

I focused on health education, teaching about hygiene, disease prevention, and safe practices like using bed nets during the temporary clinics we set up during missions. I also supported physicians in patient care and helped explain diagnoses. These experiences taught me how important communication and prevention are in medicine.

Later, I worked in a dialysis center, where I helped manage patients with chronic kidney disease and other conditions. Many came from rural areas, so I spent time educating and guiding them through their care.

Since moving to the U.S., I’ve continued learning through clinical externships and volunteering. I’ve also worked in a hospital Pathology Department, which gave me deeper insight into diagnostics and how lab results support patient care.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy barbecue and spending time outdoors. I chose Washington State as my new home because of my love for experiencing all four seasons surrounded by mountains.

Hi, I'm Salimah Muhammad Ali, MD— a physician and a passionate advocate for equitable healthcare and lifelong learning. I have always found purpose in guiding others, whether in classrooms, clinics, or community settings. I continued my commitment to service through volunteering and this role has deepened my connection to underserved communities and reinforced my desire to contribute meaningfully to public health.

Outside of medicine, I find joy in spending time with my family, cooking traditional Pakistani cuisine, and taking peaceful strolls in the park. These simple moments help me stay grounded and remind me of the importance of balance, reflection, and gratitude in both life and work.

Her clinical interests include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and lifestyle medicine. She hates papaya and vehemently aspires to the motto, "If it isn't fun, you're doing it wrong."  She is originally from Montana but is proud to call the Pacific Northwest home!

Minnie Spindler, MD grew up in Norwalk, Connecticut, with a family dedicated to fighting social inequities. After studying French at Franklin & Marshall College in central Pennsylvania, she spent a year working as a health educator in a community health center through AmeriCorps before attending UConn School of Medicine. During her time with AmeriCorps, Minnie had the opportunity to see dedicated family doctors in action, which opened her eyes to the wonder of our fantastic specialty. She headed west to Boise for residency at Full Circle Health (then Family Medicine Residency of Idaho) for broad-spectrum training that reaffirmed her love of the unique ability to provide whole-person care as a family physician. In Boise, she met her husband, Dale, and continued her westward progress to Seattle for an Advanced Obstetrics for Family Medicine fellowship at Swedish First Hill Family Medicine Residency. She has been with HealthPoint since August of 2020 and moved from a full-time patient-care role to join the residency faculty in May 2025. Minnie loves partnering with patients and communities to achieve optimal health throughout the entire lifespan, but is particularly passionate about women’s health, including obstetrical care and lactation/breastfeeding medicine. She loves to knit and bake, has strong opinions about Fat Bear Week, and can often be found enjoying local parks and zoos or heading off into our abundant nearby wilderness to hike/camp/explore with Dale and their 3 children.

Amber Maratas, MD was born and raised in Utah and attended the University of Washington for college, followed by a big move to Philadelphia to attend Jefferson Medical College.  After medical school, she took up semi-permanent residence in Philadelphia for residency, marriage, maternal child health faculty position, and some amazing kiddos (and subsequent drowning as a working parent). She moved back to Seattle to be closer to family and joined as OB faculty within HealthPoint Auburn North in 2017.  Her favorite things about working for HealthPoint are the community we work with, the dedicated people to ensure EVERYONE deserves care, continued involvement in teaching and her co-faculty family. She is interested in resident education, women's health, obstetrical care, disparities in medicine and care, anything procedural, and whole family care.   Her favorite things to do outside of work include running, yoga, anything near the water, attempting this work-parenting thing with imperfect approaches and often comedic outcomes, hiking and biking with the family, and essentially anything outside!

Lara Wilson, MD spent their first ten years as mosquito food in Minnesota, the next many years as a moving hobbyist between different parts of the US, Guatemala, and India, and have been happy to call Washington State my home since 2014. She came here to attend the University of Washington School of Medicine and then a residency at the King County Downtown Family Medicine clinic. Lara appreciates HealthPoint for having the coolest patients – so many linguistic, cultural, sexual, and gender identities – that keep things interesting in the rapidly shifting communities south of Seattle. Lara's clinical interests include reproductive health, addiction medicine, and mental health, and I provide care in English and Spanish.

She had an early career in global health financing, so she enjoys discussing how and why our system is the way it is.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys dancing, worshiping drag queens, playing sports, and being outdoors. I cook terribly and would love your suggestions on how to eat in more interesting ways.

Tara Simpson, MD grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico. Upon graduating from high school in Vancouver, B.C., she attended University of Washington (UW) and received a degree in Biochemistry. She completed medical school and Global Health Fellowship at UW and joined HealthPoint in 2019. She is grateful to work with residents, faculty, and staff who are passionate about taking excellent care of the extraordinary community we serve. Her clinical interests include adult inpatient medicine, women’s health, prenatal care, refugee care, travel medicine, and climate change medicine. Her research interests include developing and supporting residents as educators, topics related to inpatient medicine, and creativity in medicine. Outside of work, she is devoted to spending time with her omnivore (Frankie) and carnivores (Izzy, Koko, and Gandalf).

Dr. Gayatri Menon, DO, MPH was born and raised in Chicago and completed her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. Following graduation, she served as an AmeriCorps tutor, working with elementary school students in after-school programs.

She went on to earn her DO and MPH degrees at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Returning home to the Chicagoland area, she completed her family medicine residency at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL.  After residency, she practiced full-spectrum family medicine at a teaching health center in Chicago, where she also served as faculty with Northwestern University’s Family Medicine Residency program.

In 2015, Dr. Menon relocated to Seattle when her husband began a pharmacy residency program. She chose to join HealthPoint because of her deep commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare for all. She provides care in both English and Spanish, and her clinical interests include Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), adolescent medicine, and women’s health.

Gayatri loves adventuring through the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two kids, discovering hidden gems and great food along the way. She is also a certified yoga teacher and enjoys bringing mindfulness techniques into both her personal life and clinical practice.

Agnes Kim, MS, MD was born in South Korea and grew up locally in Federal Way, WA. She then studied biology at Reed College in Portland, OR and completed a MS in Medical Physiology through Case Western Reserve University. During her gap years, she spent time as a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator and as a diabetes health educator through AmeriCorp in Waco, TX. She then graduated medical school from University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX before returning home to the Pacific Northwest.  She trained at Valley Family Medicine Residency in Renton, WA where she solidified her interests in serving socioeconomically and culturally diverse patient populations in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. While she is among the newest faculty to join the team, she is excited to teach the next generation of family medicine physicians to support the growing demand for primary care, especially in low-resource communities. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs (Schnoodles!), hiking, doing yoga, learning indoor rock climbing and finding delicious food at local restaurants.
