HealthPoint Becomes Tobacco Free in 2015

"We know that using tobacco is a health hazard and we believe that as a leader in the communities we serve, it is our responsibility to promote positive, healthy behaviors to employees, patients, and visitors. Therefore, to promote good health, and create a healthy environment for everyone, all HealthPoint clinics, offices and properties will become tobacco free* on June 1, 2015," announced CEO Thomas Trompeter in a message to employees last month.

We recognize that giving up tobacco is difficult and we are committed to assisting everyone – patient and employee – who is ready to quit using tobacco. We know that quitting is a process that doesn’t happen the same way for everyone but if you want to quit and need support, ask your HealthPoint Care Team about resources or check out these options:

  • Washington Tobacco Helpline offers telephone counseling free of charge for you and your family members (1-800-QUITNOW)
  • Acupuncture – call your HealthPoint clinic for an appointment with an acupuncturist
  • All insurance companies are required to provide tobacco cessation support. Contact your insurance carrier directly.

All of us at HealthPoint are committed to our mission to strengthen communities and improve the health of our patients and staff. We're proud to join other organizations across the region in this initiative.

*Tobacco includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, pipes, dissolvable tobacco and nicotine delivery devices including electronic cigarettes.
