Nurse Practitioner Residency

HealthPoint is excited to welcome Family Nurse Practitioners to our Nurse Practitioner Residency Program. The program starts October 3, 2022 and is located in Renton, Washington. It is a two-year contract. The first year consists of our residency program, followed by a year of full-time practice.

HealthPoint is a Federally Qualified Health Center with deep roots in the communities we serve. We are seeking applicants dedicated to working with diverse, multicultural, and underserved populations throughout their careers.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to train new nurse practitioners dedicated to working with diverse, underserved populations to a high-quality model of care tailored to our complex community health center setting, creating nurse practitioners that are confident, skilled primary care providers who will successfully transition to sustainable and independent practice in community health.

Program Design

Our program and curriculum are designed to support recent graduates in successfully transitioning to sustainable, independent practice in community health settings. Our program consists of:

Continuity clinic- residents see patients from their own panel with the support of a preceptor

Partnered clinic- residents see patients from the schedule of another provider in order to curate visits and ensure breadth and depth of clinical experience

Specialty rotations- residents see patients with various specialists, such as sports medicine, suboxone, hepatitis C, and behavioral health

Didactics- weekly learning sessions

Sustainability- a focus on provider wellness and promoting long term, sustainable careers in community health settings

Project ECHO- learning collaborative between specialists and primary care providers. Specific Project ECHOs may include hepatitis B, hepatitis C, tuberculosis, diabetes, and pain management

Independent project- residents will develop their own project to improve the health of our patients or our healthcare system
