HealthPoint residents benefit from a three-year longitudinal curriculum in osteopathy as well as from the integration of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine into the primary care office and inpatient settings.
Year 1
- Adult Inpatient Family Medicine Service (FMS) - 10 weeks
- Critical Care (ICU) 4 weeks – 1.5 days/week continuity clinic
- Emergency Medicine (ER) 4 weeks – 1 day/week continuity clinic
- Obstetrics (OB) 4 weeks - 1 day a week - continuity clinic
- Pediatrics (PEDS AMBU) 4 weeks - 3 days/week continuity clinic
- General Surgery (GEN SURG) 4 weeks - 2 days/week continuity clinic
- Ophthalmology and ENT (ENT/OPTHO) 2 weeks each - 2 days/week continuity clinic
- Community Oriented Primary Care* (COPC) 12 weeks
- Introduction to Community Health Medicine - 4 weeks
- COPC/FMS Orientation - 2 weeks/2 weeks
Year 2
- Adult Inpatient Family Medicine Service (FMS) - 8 weeks
- Adult Emergency Medicine (ER) 4 weeks – 1 .5 days per week continuity clinic
- Pediatrics (Peds InPt) 4 weeks—1⁄2 day/week continuity clinic
- Obstetrics (OB) 4 weeks - 1 day a week - continuity clinic
- Orthopedics/Sports Medicine (Ortho) 4 weeks—2 days/week continuity clinic
- General Surgery (Derm) 4 weeks
- Urology (Uro) 4 weeks
- Elec ve 8 weeks (see sample elec ves below)
- Community Oriented Primary Care* (COPC) 12 weeks
Year 3
- Adult Inpatient Family Medicine Service (FMS) - 8 weeks
- Gynecology (GYN) 4 weeks – 3 days/week continuity clinic
- Pediatrics Emergency Medicine (Peds ER) 4 weeks – 1 .5 days per week continuity clinic
- Pediatrics Ambulatory (Peds Ambu) 4 weeks - 3 days/week continuity clinic
- Geriatrics (Geri) 4 weeks - 2.5 days of clinic per week
- Sports Medicine (Sports Med) 4 weeks - 2.5 days of clinic per week
- Elective (Elect) 12 weeks - 3 days of clinic per week
- Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) 12 weeks
Didactics occur each week. 2 hours over Zoom with all 4 sites of the National Family Medicine Residency program and 2 hours per week of local didactics taught by our faculty and guest's speakers.
