Learning About Your Medications Just Got Easier!

You know those pesky packets of paper you get every time you pick up a prescription?  The ones that end up lost under the seat of your car, or immediately in the recycle bin? 

Great news!

Our new prescription labels include QR codes that put all that information (plus helpful videos) online so that you can access it anywhere, anytime.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Next time you get a prescription from a HealthPoint pharmacy, locate the QR code on the prescription’s label.  
  2. Open the camera on your iPhone, or a QR code reader on any smartphone, and hold your phone 3 to 6 inches above the QR code to scan it.  Depending on your QR code reader, the website might open automatically, or you might need to click a drop-down link.
  3. Once the website opens, you can:

 

  • Watch a short video that includes a pharmacist explaining how to safely use your medication and what the expected benefits and potential side effects are.  
  • Read the information sheet normally printed on paper by pressing the "inform me" button.
  • Share information about your medication with friends, family, or your healthcare team.
  • View a high-quality image of your medication located in the "menu" button.

 

Please note: If you are picking up your prescription from a HealthPoint pharmacy, you will still receive in-person counseling about how to use your medication.  This new QR code service is to support you in safely using your medications by providing 24/7 access to relevant information and guidance.
