Empathy, patience, and the initiative to help others are essential to putting patients at the top. Patient Access Representative, Adrianne Munoz-Arellano went on to explain, “Not everyone is going to be having a good day but if you show them patience and show them that you are attentive to what they need and want. By the end of the call, they are thankful to have someone listen to them.” Adrianne is responsible for connecting patients with the health care resources they need through scheduling and documentation. The goal is to always make sure their needs are met, and they feel seen.
For Adrianne, working in health care has always been in the cards, originally wanting to be a Pediatric Nurse, he now wants to work with children diagnosed with Autism. The shift in his career dream was inspired by his younger brother who is on the spectrum and his family. Adrianne explains, “Hearing about their struggles [his family] to express themselves has inspired me to assist people within the community that may find themselves dealing with the same thing. It is extremely rewarding knowing that I can assist someone who felt like they were not being completely understood by their language barrier.” Fun fact, Adrianne also works with his brother, Giovonni in the Call Center at HealthPoint, doing what they love, helping the community with their needs.
