COVID-19 Vaccine & HealthPoint

We are at an important moment in our country’s fight against the pandemic. The first COVID-19 vaccines are being approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

This is great news. It means the vaccines are safe and effective.

Currently, HealthPoint does not have COVID-19 vaccine for patients. We expect to be able to provide it in the coming weeks.

Right now, we are working with the Department of Health to order vaccines and supplies. Our staff are being trained in how to give the vaccine. We are making a plan to monitor our patients after they receive the vaccine. We will work with our patients, communities, and public health organizations to make sure the vaccine gets to people who need it most.

The first doses in the US are going to high-risk health care workers and people living in facilities like nursing homes. People with high-risk conditions like diabetes and hypertension, those over age 65, essential workers, and those living in long-term care facilities will most likely receive the vaccine in early 2021.

HealthPoint will contact patients when we are able to provide the vaccine. We encourage everyone who is able to receive the vaccine to do so, to protect yourself and your loved ones. We understand this is an important decision. If you have any concerns about the vaccine, talk to your provider. Patients can send a secure message using the Patient Portal. (It's easier and faster than calling!)

Please continue to protect yourself and your community. Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when around others. Wash your hands frequently. Stay home as much as possible. Avoid crowds and gathering with people who don’t live with you.

Be safe and well.
