Bastyr University’s recent Founders’ Day Gala raised funds for student scholarships and “celebrated those who have made a positive difference in the world of natural health. Commemorating legacy.  Celebrating accomplishments. Honoring the University’s founders and future leaders.” The dinner recognizes the Mission Award and four Founders’ Awards, which are named after University founders and presented to Bastyr students, employees, alumni and friends for outstanding professional achievement and service to natural health.

“Our Founders’ Awards connect our past with our present and future,” says Bastyr University President Daniel Church, PhD (shown on the left in the photo). “Natural medicine has come a long way in a short amount of time, and with leaders like these, I foresee bigger and better things to come.”  He then presented Thomas Trompeter, HealthPoint CEO, with the University's most prestigious honor, the Mission Award, given to "those who show leadership in improving the health and well-being of the human community." In accepting the award which called out the unique partnership between HealthPoint and Bastyr, Mr. Trompeter said, "By engaging in this type of teamwork, we do the best for ourselves and our patients."

Cindy Breed, ND, also spoke at the event and recounted a story typical of many patients whose lives have been changed by the integration of naturopathic and allopathic medicine that is commonplace at HealthPoint. She appealed to the attendees to acknowledge the passion and commitment of Bastyr University students.
